About Hesed Healthcare

"Hesed" is a Hebrew term meaning: love in action, kindness, compassion, intervening on behalf of another. It's exactly what I believe I have been called to do as a health care provider. At Hesed, our mission is to revolutionize healthcare by providing direct, personalized, accessible, and affordable direct primary care. Hesed is committed to fostering strong relationships, prioritizing preventive care, and ensuring timely access to high-quality medical services. Through a direct primary care model, we eliminate barriers to care, enabling our patients to achieve optimal health and wellness.

Introducing Our Provider

Sarah Rousos, Family Nurse Practitioner

I’m Sarah Rousos, an Autonomous board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over fifteen years of experience in healthcare. My passion lies in merging evidence-based care with a proactive approach to wellness. I earned my undergraduate degrees from the Pennsylvania State University and proudly consider myself a “Penn Stater.” I returned to my hometown and pursued my graduate degree at Tennessee State University, after which I practiced for several years in the Nashville, TN area. I relocated to Florida in 2021. My special interests include weight management, hormone optimization, and holistic healthcare. I also completed a sub-specialty in Pediatrics and enjoy working with patients of all ages. Health education is close to my heart, and I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with the American Red Cross, providing Basic Life Support and CPR training to my community. In my free time, I cherish spending time with my family, reading, traveling, RV camping, serving in my church and engaging in bible study.

Frequently Asked Questions

While Direct Primary Care (DPC) doesn’t replace insurance or Medicare, it can complement them. Your monthly DPC fee covers all primary care services, and you can still use your insurance or Medicare for specialist care, hospitalizations, or any services not covered by the DPC plan. This combination can offer more comprehensive care while reducing out-of-pocket expenses. *It is important to note that this provider has opted out of Medicare & can not be listed as your PCP for managed care purposes.

DPC offers benefits such as no co-pays or deductibles, more time with your provider, and easier access through direct communication methods like phone or text. This model allows for more personalized care and often results in better health outcomes due to the enhanced provider-patient relationship.

A DPC plan usually covers a wide range of services, including routine and acute office visits, preventive care, chronic disease management. Some DPC practices may also offer discounted rates on medications, imaging, and additional lab work, making it a cost-effective option for routine healthcare.

Yes! We love our pediatric patients. Sarah Rousos completed a sub-specialty rotation in Pediatrics and also worked at a Children’s Hospital where she got experience caring for children of all ages. She’s also a mom herself. At Hesed Healthcare, we are comfortable treating children age 6+ as we feel newborns and toddlers benefit from the care of a Pediatrician. We do not provide in-house vaccinations for our pediatric patients but we do support parents’ choice to make their own decisions about vaccines and we are happy to advise our families on where they can obtain childhood immunizations.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are FDA-approved medications that have been shown to significantly aid in weight loss by reducing appetite and enhancing metabolic function. However, they are typically prescribed for individuals with a BMI of 27 or higher or those with weight-related health conditions. A healthcare provider will determine if these treatments are suitable for you based on your health profile.

The process begins with a comprehensive medical evaluation, including a discussion of your health history, weight loss goals, and any potential contraindications. If you’re a good candidate, the provider will prescribe Semaglutide or Tirzepatide and monitor your progress regularly, adjusting the dosage as needed to ensure safe and effective weight loss.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation, which often subside as your body adjusts to the medication. It’s important to communicate with your healthcare provider about any side effects you experience, as they can adjust your treatment plan to minimize discomfort.

Symptoms like low energy, reduced libido, muscle weakness, and mood changes can indicate low testosterone levels. A blood test will confirm if TRT is necessary. Benefits of TRT include improved energy levels, increased muscle mass, enhanced mood, and better sexual health.

Potential risks of TRT include increased red blood cell count, sleep apnea, and prostate health issues. Side effects may include acne, fluid retention, or mood swings. Regular monitoring by your healthcare provider helps manage these risks and ensures that the therapy is safe and effective for you.

Most men start to notice improvements in energy levels and mood within a few weeks of starting TRT. Muscle mass and libido typically improve over several months. Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider will help track your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment.

Your DPC membership at Hesed Healthcare includes easy, barrier-free access to your healthcare provider, same-day or next-day appointments, routine check-ups, chronic disease management, preventative care, and more. Our goal is to provide you with comprehensive care that meets your unique health needs without the barriers of traditional insurance-based models.
